So, let me introduce myself!
I’m Brooke! A window-shopping, gold-loving, Gemini-witted bag connoisseur—building my closet and sharing funky & classic designer bags for yours. This isn’t going to be your typical LV Neverfull destination, instead think Carrie Bradshaw-esk mix of eclectic with vintage finds you need!
We can talk about bags forever, but this post is for you to get to know the dreamer, me!
I’m just a girl in her 30s who lives for sunshine, sweet treats, animal friends and great accessories. I moved across the country recently to make Denver my home and playground. Now my weekends are spent outside in the mountains or wandering the city to buy trinkets, home decor and of course, adding to my closet.
But professionally… I got laid off. Ouch.
Which forced me to think harder about my next career.
I’ve done the trade thing. I’ve done the corporate #GirlBoss thing, and it just isn’t for me. I craved something deeper that would align with my passions and interests. So being a desk jockey–yet again–was not an option.
Every time I went back to the career drawing board I knew my job needed to include a few things:
- Creativity
- Authenticity
- Flexibility
- …And shopping?
When thinking of a career, I kept finding myself daydreaming about having my own brand. A brand where I could show up as my damn self—not who I thought my boss wanted me to be. A brand that showcases fashion pieces that make getting dressed fun. A brand for you.
How did I get here? Why fashion?
Even though I wouldn’t let my mom brush my hair as a child… and I didn’t wear anything but jeans and a t-shirt until I went to high school (no, seriously), I have always found myself in awe when it came to runway shows and designer fashion and makeup.
It all started in my mother’s closet.
This woman had curated pieces over decades that were funky, colorful and a sure-to-be head-turner. She has such a knack for making outfit combinations that come purely from her own imagination.
A woman who wore beautiful dresses to the Kentucky Derby, but also packed an entire back-up option in her LV in the event someone showed up in the same look… And made her own hat so no one else could be identical. A woman who never bought a halloween costume but instead designed her own. And of course, a woman whose closet was always full, but (mostly) at a discount. To this day I don’t know anyone who can calculate percentages faster than her.
And her mother and father—an immigrant suit tailor and a seamstress who handmade most of my mother's childhood clothing.
My mom’s love of collecting pieces slowly but surely wore off on me. My most prized piece of clothing is my mom's 90s Ralph Lauren denim jacket complete with a corduroy collar she handed down. Now I love nothing more than being on the hunt for a unique new-to-me piece.
