One night on my honeymoon I couldn’t sleep very well. I just laid there thinking how on earth do I even get started with this website, how to source handbags, how to show up on Instagram, what am I doing... And then I thought about how awesome it was being in Japan and just witnessing all of the culture and creativity. Then, about the women all around Japan and their daily lives—waking up to take the train into the city while always looking so put together.
What would that be like? To be put together all the time.
There were girls in their 20s wearing their cute pleated short-skirts and high-socks, linked arms and giggling with their other girlfriends dressed exactly the same. Salary women in chic pantsuits that were neatly tailored in black or deep navy. Grunge girls in oversized cargo pants paired with chunky black heels and just the right amount of extra accessories.
If I lived here, which style category would I fit into?
…Which made me think about my closet—and immediately call myself out for all the things I don’t wear. All my fun pants that stay neatly folded until the weekend and the literal dust collecting on the shoulders of my shirts.

Which THEN led me to think about the one time a day I always leave the house—to walk my dog, Mira.
You're thinking about getting dressed to just walk the f**king dog? Who are you?
Yup. I'm doing it. While tossing and turning, I decided to accept the internal challenge to get more creative with my current closet. Not only is it a great way to challenge how I style what I already own; but also help identify what items I am missing. (Which is a perfect reason to go thrifting, woo!)
To keep myself accounable, I'm starting a new series on Instagram—GRWM: Walking the Dog. (I am deciding between two names at the moment. I'm almost there!)
The bonus challenge?
Denver Summer is almost here and I struggle to find what to wear in the warmer months of the year. Winter is much easier with the gift of layering—jackets, sweaters, boots and hats—but in the summer my go-to is jeans and a tank top…
But, I will cross that bridge when I get to it. But for now we will take the sunny 70s ☀️
Here are a few photos in the event you are as nosey as I am!
